Terrorists have scampered for safety as the troops raided their enclave in Sokoto, Northern Nigeria.

Gatekeepers News reports that terrorists operating within Isa Local Government Area of Sokoto State faced their waterloo on Thursday after heavy fire from a joint military operation taskforce team attacked them.

The Bello Turji led terrorists were left to scamper for safety in the wake of the raid which left several marauders injured while others were killed.

Sources in the army reported that the military onslaught was led by the General Officer Commanding of 8th Division Nigeria Army Headquarters Sokoto, Major General Uwem Bassey.

Recently, two villages within Isa LGA, Satiru, and Katanga came under a series of attacks from terrorists, leading to the death of many villagers.

In a turnaround of events, the military was said to have stormed the criminals’ hideouts between Thursday and Friday, killing many of the terrorists.

According to sources, some of the gunmen who survived the raid were seen trying to flee along the outskirts of Bafarawa village, while some ran away on their motorcycles.

As at the time of filing this report, all attempts to reach the Division’s Army Spokesman were unsuccessful.
