2023: Muktar Bajeh Faults Alleged Plots To Smear Yahaya Bello
Chief Whip of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Muktar Bajeh has faulted the alleged plots by some ‘intimidated’ politicians to smear the State Governor, Yahaya Bello ahead of the 2023 Presidential election by using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Gatekeepers News reports that Bajeh particularly condemned the recent insinuation by the anti-graft agency that Bello is the governor from North Central Nigeria it is investigating for withdrawing N60 billion Naira within 6 years.

Bajeh dismissed the insinuation, describing it as irresponsible, illogical and desperate as he noted that Governor “Bello in the first place has not been in office for up to 6 years.”

He wondered what could have warranted that volume of withdrawal when there has never been any emergency situation in the State.

The lawmaker blames this campaign of calumny on a fixation by certain interests to discredit at all cost the rising profile of Gov. Yahaya Bello ahead of the 2023 General Elections.

According to him, “they feel intimidated seeing how increasingly popular the young man is becoming… and seek to pull him down at all cost hence all of these.”

He continued that Yahaya Bello’s achievements in the areas of security, infrastructure and inclusive governance amongst several others will continue to endear him to the people.

Bajeh further advised the EFCC to resist being used by politicians to further their nest.
