A man has been arrested after he was caught receiving the 9th dose of COVID-19 vaccine, in exchange for compensation, as he has done for other people.

Gatekeepers News reports that the man who was arrested on Sunday in Charleroi, Belgium, had arrived at the vaccination centre as usual, with an identity card that was not his but was spotted by the staff of the vaccination centre who raised the alarm.

The man’s identity was, however, not made public. Also, the identity of those that had allegedly paid him to receive the vaccine on their behalf was not revealed.

There is reportedly no sign of complication in his heath despite the number of injections he had received. He, however, risks being prosecuted for forgery along with the people who had benefitted from his actions.

Gatekeepers News reports that Belgium has imposed more measures to curb the spread of the Omicron, a variant of concerns.

The country has announced that indoor Christmas markets, cinemas, theatres and concert halls will be closed from December 26, but Sporting events will continue, without spectators.

Also, previous rules such as; mandatory mask-wearing in indoor public spaces, working from home four days a week, and closing bars and restaurants at 11 pm will remain in place.

“The aim in taking these measures is to manage the pressure on hospitals and ensure schools can reopen from January 10, 2022,” Belgian prime minister, Alexander De Croo explained.
