Nigeria on Wednesday recorded 4035 new COVID-19 cases, the highest daily COVID-19 infections since the outbreak in late February 2020.
Gatekeepers News reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known in its daily update on coronavirus.
This, confirms that the nation is now in a fourth COVID-19 wave as announced this week by the NCDC.
Lagos, the most affected State, led the infection chart with 3,393 cases.
Others are;Rivers-260, Edo-62, Akwa Ibom-42, Kaduna-39, Ekiti-38, Oyo-38, Delta-31, Kano-31, Ogun-30, Abia-26, Bauchi-15, Ondo-14, Enugu-9 and Kwara-7.
NCDC, in its report, added that Wednesday’s report includes:
▪️Additional 2,536 confirmed cases reported from Lagos state for 13th (37), 14th (365), 15th (197), 16th (577), 18th (742) & 19th (618) December
▪️42 confirmed cases reported from Akwa Ibom state for 20th (13) & 21st (29) December
▪️ 9 confirmed & 6 discharged cases reported from Enugu state for 21st December
▪️0 cases reported from Gombe, Osun and Sokoto State.
As of December 22nd, Nigeria has recorded 211,853 recoveries and 2,991 deaths.
