Nigeria has recorded 536 New Covid-19 cases and 2 deaths as infection hits 242,877.
Gatekeepers News reports that the confirmed cases of Covid-19 has increased to 242,877 as 536 new cases and 2 deaths were recorded in Nigeria on Saturday, 1st of January 2022.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update on Coronavirus, said 214,778 cases have been discharged and 3,033 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory of the country.
According to NCDC, the new cases are reported from 13 states, with Lagos having the highest with 259 new cases.
In further report from NCDC, Rivers had 90, Oyo-46, Edo-43, Kaduna-29, FCT-25, Cross River-12, Nasarawa-10, Osun-6, Gombe-5, Kano-5, Ogun-5, Jigawa-1.
Meanwhile, a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.
