Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases Rise to 243,450

Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases continues to rise as 573 new cases were recorded by the NCDC on Sunday.

Gatekeepers News reports that the new cases are 7 from States according to Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.

The NCDC noted that Lagos State reported the highest infections of the day with 281 new cases, followed by Benue (202), Kano (61), Jigawa (5), Edo (2) and Oyo (2).

Today’s report includes a backlog of 20 cases reported for Borno state for 28th (4), 29th (4), 30th (9), and 31st (3) December 2021.

A backlog of 6 deaths reported for Borno state from 25th – 28th December 2021.

61 caese reported for Kano state for 31st December 2021 (27), and 2nd January 2022 (34).

6 states with zero cases reported: Ekiti, Ondo, Ogun, Osun, Plateau and Sokoto.

Till date, 243,450 cases have been confirmed, 215,352 cases have been discharged and 3,039 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
