In anticipation of The Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE) project which focuses on “improving basic education and tackling fundamental system constraints by raising the quality of teaching and learning” in key state areas (Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa & Abuja) and to strengthen its operations and interventions in the country, AHNi is recruiting to fill the following positions;

  • Technical Officer – HIV / Hypertension
  • Finance & Administrative Assistant
  • Assistant Technical Officer – HIV / Hypertension
  • Assistant Technical Officer – Monitoring & Evaluation

Job Title: Technical Officer – HIV / Hypertension

Location: Akwa Ibom

Job Description

  • Will provide the programmatic coordination and technical direction to the delivery of the hypertension-HIV integration project activities in Akwa Ibom State including design, implementation, training, supervision, and monitoring of project activities.
  • S/He will interact with site program managers, key stakeholders in SMoH, SASCP, SACA, LACA, other implementing agencies, and local research groups to advance project objectives, develop policies, and design context-specific strategies to improve the integration of hypertension services into routine HIV care and treatment activities and support capacity development of healthcare workers on Hypertension/HIV services, including developing a training curriculum/IECs/SOPs on hypertension.

Minimum Recruitment Standard 

  • MB.BS/MD/Ph.D or similar degree with 1 to 3 years of progressive relevant experience in managing comprehensive HIV programs in resource-constrained settings.
  • Or MPH or MS/MA in relevant degree with 3 to 5 years of progressive relevant experience in managing comprehensive TB and HIV programs in resource-constrained settings.
  • Or B.Sc/BA in pharmacy, microbiology, health sciences, monitoring and evaluation, public health, or in relevant degree with 5 to 7 years of progressive relevant experience in managing comprehensive TB and HIV programs in resource-constrained settings.
  • Experience in project development with proven experience in the planning and facilitation of training is required.
  • Experience in large and complex donor-funded national health-focused projects is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.

Job Title: Finance & Administrative Assistant

Location: Abuja

Job Description

  • Will be responsible for the provision of administrative and logistical services to the Finance directorate.
  • S/He will support AHNi State Office as a backup through periodic finance review visits to the supported State Office as may be required, assist with the preparation of bank reconciliation statements for other accounts as may be assigned by supervisor, receive and review all payment requests from staff and vendors to ensure completeness of support documentation.
  • Also, s/he will prepare and upload all approved payment requests to the online payment portal (GTB GAPs), prepare payment vouchers and request forms for management approval, track advances to staff and ensure prompt retirement and perform other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Recruitment Standard

  • University Degree or a recognized equivalent with 1-2 years experience
  • Familiarity with administrative and secretarial skills is an advantage
  • Familiarity with international NGOs is an advantage
  • Experience with large complex organizations preferred
  • Experience in managing financial records of donor-funded organizations, and familiarity with donor and local contractual procedures is an advantage.

Job Title: Assistant Technical Officer – HIV / Hypertension

  • To strengthen our operations and interventions in the country, we are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Technical Officer-HIV/Hypertension.

Responsibilities

  • The Assistant Technical Officer – HIV / Hypertension will provide technical and programmatic support to the delivery of the Hypertension-HIV services at the facility and community level.
  • S/He will support the implementation of components related to clinical management of hypertension and integrated medical services guided by strategies and approaches related to the implementation programs at the state level.
  • Also, s/he will provide technical and programmatic support to implement high-quality care and support activities in supported health facilities in collaboration with the appropriate GoN stakeholders, ensuring timely and adequate documentation. Assist in conducting routine monitoring visits to project sites, conduct Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) using official tools, assist in the preparation of monthly reports, and provide supportive supervision.

Minimum Recruitment Standard 

  • MB.BS or similar degree with a minimum of 1-year relevant experience in clinical care with a sound understanding of HIV/AIDS with the provision of PMTCT, TB, and anti-retroviral therapy (ART) in resource-constrained settings.
  • BSc. Nursing, Public Health, Pharmacy, or other closely related fields with 1-3 years relevant experience.
  • BS/BA in Statistics, Pharmacy, Microbiology, Monitoring, and Evaluation or in relevant Degree with 1 – 3 years relevant experience in Monitoring and Evaluation or data management.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable.

Job Title: Assistant Technical Officer – Monitoring & Evaluation

Location: Akwa Ibom

Job Description

  • Will drive program monitoring towards meeting the project objectives by supporting technical teams to document, monitor, and track changes in implementation.
  • S/He will provide technical support to sites in the state, including interacting with site Program Managers, M&E focal points, M&E officers of SACA/SASCP, other Implementing Agencies, and local research groups on needs and ensuring that these parties understand and can support the reporting requirements.
  • Conduct routine monitoring visits to project sites, including the conduct of data quality assessments (DQAs) using official tools, assist in the preparation of monthly reports, and provide supportive supervision and ensure that the quality of program/project activities adheres to SOPs by supporting the development and implementation of appropriate mechanisms to ensure quality.

Minimum Recruitment Standard

  • MB.BS / MD / Ph.D. or similar degree with 1 to 3 years relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation with at least one-year relevant experience in Monitoring and Evaluation or data management.
