Twitter is now accessible in Nigeria without the aid of Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).
Gatekeepers News reports that Nigerians can now access Twitter without the aid of VPN after over six months suspension of the microblogging site by the federal government of Nigeria.
This follows the announcement of the Federal Government’s reversal of its ban on Twitter in the country.
According to the announcement, the lifting of the ban was to kick off at 12am on Thursday.
Gatekeepers News earlier reported that “…the lifting of the suspension of Twitter operation in Nigeria effective from 12am tonight, 13th January 2022.”
However, Gatekeepers News tried logging into the platform around past 12 without the aid of a VPN, there was no connection. This continued till the wee hours of today – Thursday, January 13, 2022.
Gatekeepers News can report that the site is now active without the aid of VPN.
