  • Community Health Field Officer 2 (2-Years Fixed Term)

Missing Persons (Restoring Family Links) Field Officer

Under the supervision of the RFL Delegate, the Missing Persons Field Officer supports the implementation and monitoring of the activities related to the Missing and Protection of Family Links (PFL) in line with the priorities and objectives set by the delegation.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in the implementation of the Accompaniment program for the families of missing.
  • Conducts interviews with families of missing persons.
  • Carries out training for accompaniers on implementing the accompaniment programme, and relevant topics.
  • Maintains contact and provides on-the-job coaching to accompaniers together with the MHPSS team.
  • Contributes to the collection and analysis of data.
  • Uses Excel and other software to create databases to aid the processing and interpretation of information from household surveys and evaluations.
  • Updates databases and files relevant documents in TeamSpace in accordance with data protection guidelines.
  • Processes data, reports, supply requests, and other administrative tasks in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates with colleagues from other departments (to support multi-disciplinary activities as part of accompaniment).
  • Follows up on all work-related messages and correspondence with the relevant contacts and departments.
  • Upon request translate into English orally during the meeting or in writing as required.
  • Assists the Restoring Family Links colleagues when required and participates in RFL activities in the field.
  • Raises Requisition Orders to purchase the items needed for field activities.
  • Sends transport and field trip requests.

Education and Experience Required

  • Degree in Psychology, Social Work or Social studies
  • 5 years of work experience in the similar field
  • Advanced level of written and spoken English and Kanuri (other local languages an asset)
  • Good computer skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Good knowledge of local cultural aspects and geographically assigned area

Community Health Field Officer 2 (2-Years Fixed Term)

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely implementation and quality monitoring of the NorCross supported community-based health programme through structured and regular monitoring field visits and reporting.
  • Technically support operations of the National Society (NRCS) to better plan for future projects, review and provide input to reports, analyse trends and suggest project adjustments.
  • Collaborates and ensures complementarity with ICRC health programmes which are carried out in the same areas.
  • Oversee the coordination of all the components of the community-based health programme activities in collaboration with the Community Health Delegate, and in consultation with the NRCS Yola branch.
  • Liaise with health authorities, especially the State Primary Health Care Development Agency (SPHCDA), State Ministry of Health (SMoH), Local Government Authorities (LGAs), and humanitarian organisations supporting health-related interventions as required by his/her supervisor
  • Prepares timely weekly field movement plan and field trip reports
  • Coordinates with LOG / ADMIN on supply requests, cash forecast as required
  • Develops and maintains a dialogue with LGA health/nutrition authorities in catchment areas of ICRC PHC programs
  • Identifies training needs with the Community Health delegate and NRCS focal person (s), and prepares plan and budget, and implements training programs including on-site training.

Education and Experience Required

  • Degree in related health sciences e.g. nursing, midwifery; registered and with relevant experience,
  • Minimum of 3 years experience managing community-based health or other related health programs.

Desired profile and Skills

  • Previous experience in community-based health and/or nutrition programs
  • Previous experience in humanitarian context in N.E Nigeria
  • Very good understanding of culture/health structure in Northeast
  • Understanding of humanitarian cluster systems
  • Fluent in written and oral English, Local Languages i.e. Hausa
  • Good reporting and analytical skills, Computer literate (Word, Excel)
  • Good negotiation and diplomatic skills

Housekeeper

Under the supervision of the Housekeeper Supervisor, the housekeeper ensures that ICRC premises are clean.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cleans the offices and bedrooms
  • Cleans the kitchen and washes dishes
  • Sweeps and mops the floor and tables
  • Cleans the bathrooms and toilets
  • Empties garbage bins, ashtrays, and shredders
  • Takes care of water reserve for the dispenser and ensures that bottle is always refilled
  • Makes the bed in the bedrooms
  • Completes daily checklist on cleaning tasks
  • Proactively informs of spoilt equipment
  • Washes and changes all the towels in the bathrooms
  • Laundry: washes the clothes, beddings, and towels of the residents twice a week
  • Irons washed clothes twice a week.
  • Changes the bedsheets once a week and washes them
  • Moves all movable furniture in order to clean behind the furniture

Education and Experience Required

Secondary Education

  • Proved previous similar work experience
  • English speaking
