National Union of Borno State Students (NUBOSS) which has been devastated for over three years due to activities of insurgents is now back to life and ready to move on.
Gatekeepers News the restoration of NUBOSD became necessary because all the relevant authorities and individuals came together and stood under one umbrella and constituted the caretaker committee and electoral committee which will conduct a free, peaceful and fair election within very short period of time.
The disclosure was made by Abdullahi Alhaji Maidoki, Interim Caretaker Chairman of National Union Of Borno State Students (NUBOSS) in a press statement issued on Thursday, copies of which were made available to Journalists in Bauchi.
He appreciated the efforts of the State Commissioner of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Engineer Mustapha Mallumbe for his zeal and eagerness to see the success of meeting the demands of students’ welfare and peace among the Borno state students.
He also thanked the State Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum for making the decision of appointing Mallam Bala Isa as the Executive Secretary of Borno state scholarship Board.
The Interim Caretaker Chairman stated further, “I want To tell the world that Borno state Governor has done wonderfully well and even more than expectations of the people by improving education sector, in terms of both infrastructure and human capacity building”,
He added that “Yes, many Governors had done their best in education but they didn’t build good structures and edifices with full interior decorations including air conditioners and projectors as classrooms for primary school pupils of IDPs and less Privileged children”.
Abdullahi Alhaji also commended the Governor for establishing the State Education Trust Fund that executed more than a hundred projects within a short period after establishment and serving as response and counter solutions to the destruction made by insurgents for more than ten years as well as doubled the scholarship allowances for both foreign and local students just as it provides breakfast food for primary school pupils.
According to him, “This is just to mention but a few, the list is endless. May God bless and help him in all his endeavours. I wish to inform the Governor and general public that, the acting executive secretary has proven to the world that he is a man of integrity”.
“The requirements of a good job is competency, by demonstrating honesty and selfless services to the Borno state students and workers of the scholarship board due to the undeniable facts that he has to achieve things that three different people could not achieve in three years time but he alone achieved it within less than a month”, he added.
The NUBOSS Interim Chairman, therefore, opined that, “he not that he even deserve but he earned to be recognized, recommended and appreciated. Meanwhile, we are looking forward to a higher position to this humble, Noble and able personality, because anybody that can bring peace among more than 40000 people, particularly youths and students, need to be held at high esteemed. The reward of a good job is more work”.
