The Osun Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has confirmed the death of one person at Ward 14, Oke-Oba 1, Agberire, in Iwo Local Government Area of Osun State, Southwest Nigeria.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Command Public Relations Officer, Atanda Olabisi in a statement said the incident occurred as a result of crisis, which broke out among factional members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Osun Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had commenced the 3-man ad-hoc delegates conference, which would end on Thursday, February 24, 2022.

The statement added that the Osun Commandant of the NSCDC, Emmanuel Ocheja, has assured residents of adequate security of lives and property.

Ocheja reiterated that the command in synergy with other sister agencies was on top of the situation and normalcy had already been restored.

He also implored citizens to go about their lawful businesses and report any suspicious movement to the authorities.
