Air Peace has canceled the chartered flight scheduled to evacuate Nigerians from Poland amid the ongoing Ukraine-Russia war.
Gatekeepers News reports that passengers are now being redirected to baggage reclaim.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs official, Bolaji Akinremi, said the flight was postponed due to a delay in preparing passengers for the check-in process.
Akinremi added that the flight has now been scheduled for Friday morning.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeam earlier revealed that about 2,000 Nigerians have fled Ukraine, amid a Russian invasion, to neighboring countries.
On Wednesday, Gatekeepers News earlier reported that the Federal Government said it has approved $8.5m for the evacuation of citizens.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Zubairu Dada listed the countries where the pickup flights would be headed as Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania.
Two flights from Air Peace and one from Max Air are expected to carry out the evacuation exercise.
