Thomas R, 27 has allegedly stabbed Mieke Oort, 21 to death after stalking her for a while.
Gatekeepers News reports that Oort, a Massachusetts woman who was studying in the Netherlands was fatally stabbed by a stalker, Thomas.
According to reports, Thomas and Oort had met on Tinder but he grew jealous and tracked her after she reconciled with her ex-boyfriend.
Thomas reportedly became violent and started stalking Oort after she got back together with Michael (her boyfriend). There were claims that Thomas harassed the young woman via WhatsApp, drove up and down her street, and even put a GPS tracking device on her bike.
Oort’s family, who are currently mourning her death are now heading to the Netherlands to make the necessary arrangements for her funeral rites.
Her sister Danique said, “She was my baby sister. We don’t really know how to cope with it. She had just so much more to give and she had a lot of love for everyone.
“She was the sweetest, strongest woman I knew. She really just put everyone else before her. Everyone.’
“Right now, we’re just trying to process this whole situation, and really say our goodbyes and make the necessary arrangements will have to do.”
The Police had received the woman’s distress call about a fire in her apartment on Tweebaksmarkt in Leeuwarden around 3.30 am on Sunday.
The fire was quickly extinguished and Oort’s body was found. Two other men who lived in the building, 25 and 30, also reported mildly serious injuries.
The fire allegedly started after Thomas threw an incendiary bomb against the house to force the other residents out. Following this, a fight broke out in the stairwell between two male residents.
According to the report, Thomas went upstairs and stabbed Oort with a sharp object.
