PDP South-South Stakeholders Frown At Continuous Unlawful Violation Of NDDC Act

Stakeholders of the South-South zone of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have frowned at the ‘continuous unlawful violation’ of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Act by the use of sole administrator in the management and running of affairs of the Commission.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Stakeholders who met on Monday met in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to immediately constitute the governing board of the NDDC in line with the enabling law.

The zone also demanded that the forensic audit report of the NDDC be made public and implemented fully without further delay.

On the 2023 Presidency, the stakeholders backed the Southern states Governors Forum that the next president of Nigeria should come from the south.

The zone commended the PDP governors of the South-South for putting the zone on the world map as hubs of development through various development projects initiated and commissioned regularly.

The Stakeholders further called on the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to recognize the contribution of the zone to the Nation’s Wealth and extend infrastructural projects to the zone as being carried out and implemented in other zones of the country.

The zone also expresses concerns about the ‘non-existence’ of Federal Government Infrastructural Projects in the zone despite its huge contribution to the Nation’s Economy and called on the Federal Government to immediately carry out developmental projects in the zone beginning with the urgent and immediate completion of the East-West Road.
