Commodore Abimbola Ayuba (rtd) FNIM, FCAARS has been elected the new President of the Africa Center For Strategic Studies Alumni Association (ACSS-NG).
Gatekeepers News reports that ACSS Alumni Association elected new excos at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) which took place at the National Defence College Abuja on 5th March 2022.
Alhaji Mohammed Bello-Tukur Esq. was elected as the Vice President; Mrs Oluwakemi Okenyodo Esq as Secretary-General; and Brig. General Abubakar Sa’ad Hanafi (rtd) was elected as Assistant Secretary-General.
Other excos elected at the AGM include; Dr. (Mrs.) Adaoha Okwuosa, OON – Financial Secretary; Chief Mrs Biola Shotunde, fwc – Treasurer; Mr Hakeem Abiola – Publicity Secretary; and Barr. Fred A. Emesiabum – Legal Adviser.
The AGM which all participants applauded as very successful, was attended by eminent alumni who include: Dr Solomon Arase – Former Inspector General of Police; Brig. General Abdullah Ahmad (rtd), – Past President (ACSS -NG); General Yusuf Shehu (rtd) – Past President (ACSS – NG); Navy Capt. Abel Memuduaghan (rtd) – Past EXCO member (ACSS – NG); Mrs Florence Iheme – Former ECOWAS Director and Past VP (ACSS – NG); Professor Gani Joses Yoroms of NDC and Past Sec. General (ACSS),; Mrs. Olubunmi Akinjolire – Former Director, FMI and Past Treasurer (ACSS -NG); Major General Augustine Agunedo (rtd); Mr Dawa – Former Director of the DSS amongst several other notable alumni of the association graced the occasion.
Special Guest of Honour was Mrs. Aishah N, Ahmad – Deputy Governor, Financial Systems Stability Directorate, Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
The high point of the occasion was the presentation of the draft revised ACSS-NG Constitution to members.
Awards of meritorious service were conferred on past and re-elected EXCOS members.
