Chairmanship aspirant in Etsako East Local Government Area, Benedicta Ebuehi has said she is not seeking employment as a local government Chairman but seeking for an avenue to impact lives.
Gatekeepers News reports that Ebuehi has promised to build a self-regulated economy and sustainable infrastructure that will preserve and secure the future of the local government for the benefit of future generations if elected.
Ebuehi in a statement made available to Gatekeepers News stressed that the economy of Etsako East needs to be redirected based on expert knowledge and understanding of the economic dynamics, creative strategies and political will.
She further promised to work with the legislative arm to formulate and implement policies that are people oriented and give value to every government investment on projects.
Ebuehi said “Internally generated revenue profile would continue to increase and more money would be made available to improve on the quality of life of the people”
According to Ebuehi, the local government must be seen as drivers of Edo State diversification growth plan and job creation.
The Chairmanship aspirant wrote further, “I am in the race to reposition our local government to play a more active role towards the emancipation of our people from every form of deficiency through the provision of adequate developmental infrastructure that will answer to the challenges of health, address the inadequacies in the provision of water, sanitation and the difficulty in getting employment for our youths.”
She noted that though others may be in the race but she is more qualified to be the local government Chairman due to her vast knowledge and understanding of the developmental challenges of the council.
According to her, “available limited resources shall be allocated judiciously to achieve development in the order of priority. The problem of underdevelopment in key sectors shall firmly and objectively be addressed as a veritable instrument for development.
During her consultation in Agenebode with PDP leadership, Ebuehi stressed that, “Food security exists when every household at all times have access to sufficient, safe food that meet their dietary need for an active and healthy life. This I will strive to achieve when elected as Etsako East Chairman because the local government is the closest and directly in touch with farmers who are central to the implementation of any food security policy.”
She also promised to open up more productive and viable opportunities for Etsako East Women.
“We will develope more lands and encourage more people into farming while giving support to existing farmers in our efforts in achieving our diversification goals in making Edo State great again.
“Continuing she said, equally important is the fact that we will collaborate with key developmental actors and form robust public –private partnership that will help to promote local development. This will help in enhancing economic development as well as generate resources and jobs that will productively engage our youths,” she added.
