Operatives of the Lagos State police command have foiled an attempt by armed hoodlums to vandalise power installations at the Dangote Refinery.
Gatekeepers News reports that about 20 hoodlums gained access to the facility of Africa’s biggest oil refinery on Monday with the aim to steal amoured cables.
Their operation was, however, interrupted by police officers who shot and killed one of them while others escaped with bullet wounds.

“Some shootings occurred, one of them was hit, and the others escaped. They were about 20 in numbers. The one that was hit died on the way to the hospital,” he said.
“Security around that area has been fortified and investigation has begun. No arrest has been made,” Hundeyin was quoted to have said.
