Andy Bello, Managing Director /Chief Executive Officer of Lockdown Entertainment, has received the 2022 Art Ambassador award.
Gatekeepers News reports that the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) conferred Andy with the award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the growth, development and sustenance of the Theatre/Arts.
The award was presented to the renowned media professional and entertainment entrepreneur on March 27 in Benin City, Edo State.
NANTAP organised the award ceremony to mark the annual World Theatre Day (WTA), a day initiated in 1961 and celebrated globally in recognition of Theatre’s purpose in human and international development.
The award presentation event had in attendance National Executive Council (NEC) members of NANTAP, visiting veterans of the Theatre and distinguished fellows of the Theatre.
Gatekeepers News reports that Andy is one of the most respected entrepreneurs, who undoubtedly, played an immense role in the development of the Showbiz industry in Benin city and the entire south-south region of Nigeria.
The Edo-born Bello left no stone unturned in showcasing the rich musical heritage and unveiling talents.
Andy founded The Annual South South Music Awards (SSMA) in 2009 to honour talented artists for their efforts.
Before Andy conceptualised SSMA over a decade ago, he has used his several entertainment platforms on television and in management to unearth and give credence to arguably most of the top music talents that emerged from the entertainment obit from this district.
Apart from the recent NAPTAP award, Andy had bagged several awards for his contributions to the entertainment industry.
