A truck has crushed a yet-to-be-identified middle-aged man to death at Ojuelegba Bridge, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
Gatekeepers News reports that the truck fell off Ojuelegba Bridge to crush the man while he was driving his Honda Accord car on Saturday night.
According to witnesses, it took some time to get the man out. He was, however, retrieved dead by the rescue mission.
No fewer than four of such incidents including falling trailers or unlatched containers have been recorded in the past 12 months in the area. This is because the bridge lacks side rails.
Many have criticised Lagos State Government for not taking steps to stop the avoidable accidents.
A Tweep, @Tomiwa_A said, “Mr. Governor @jidesanwoolu a trailer fell off a bridge unto the car Infront of me at Ojuelegba and it is the most fucked up thing I’ve ever seen in my life, I’m supposed to be dead right now. If there’s anything your administration should be known for, it should be stopping this.”

“How is it this hard for Lagos state Government to stop these Ojuelegba accidents? Stop the fucking trailers from using the bridge”, said @Collins_Okpe.
LagosTrafficreports suggested, “I think it’s time to stop Containers&Lorries from using Ojuelegba bridge. Lagos State govt must not witness another casualty again. A barricade will do”.
