Gunmen have attacked the Aguata Local Government Area headquarters, Anambra State, Southeast Nigeria where the State Governor, Charles Soludo hails from.
Gatekeepers News reports that the council headquarters was set on fire during the attack on Thursday afternoon.
According to reports, the attackers are believed to be the same people that attacked the market in the council, Eke Ekwulobia.
When contacted, the Spokesman for Anambra State Police Command, Ikenga Tochukwu said that “following the report of the fire incident at the Local Government headquarters, the command has deployed men to the area and the situation has been brought under control.”
Ikenga added that men of the Fire Service have also been contacted adding that they are already combating the inferno.
