UNICEF Calls Out Nkechi Blessing’s Estranged ‘Husband’ Over Fraudulent Donation

Opeyemi Falegan, the estranged husband of Nollywood actress, Nkechi blessing, has been called out by UNICEF over an alleged fraudulent donation.

Gatekeepers News reports that Falegan took to his Instagram page to solicit donations for the less privileged and promised to submit every cent to UNICEF.

The donation garnered about 61.41 pounds according to a post he made on Friday.

He wrote: “We were able to raise 61 pounds for the people of Ukraine through @unicef, this is for the people of Ukraine who passed through a lot of dysfunction/disheartening situations in recent times. The donation has ended today and we want to thank our donators/supporters for the nice gesture and also service to humanity. God bless u @unicef for being a platform to be used…”

However, minutes after he made the post, UNICEF tagged his post as a scam, stating that it is not aware of the fictitious donation.

UNICEF Nigeria noted that all legitimate campaigns for donations are hosted on the organisation’s website and verified social media pages.

It further urged the general public not to fall victim to the scam Falegan.

The post titled ‘Scam Alert’, reads: “UNICEF Nigeria is aware of a fictitious donation drive to raise funds for UNICEF. Please be aware that all legitimate campaigns for donations are hosted on the UNICEF website www.unicef.org and verified social media pages. Do not fall victim to this scam!
