Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo is set to declare his intention to contest the presidency in the 2023 general election.
Gatekeepers News reports this is coming at the heels of several speculations that Osinbajo would run for president.
Over the past months, various interest groups have launched campaigns asking the Vice President to contest for presidency.
However, his Spokesman, Lola Akande on February 2022, said such speculations should be “ignored” as his principal was yet to take a a decision on contesting the presidency in 2023.
Sources close to Osinbajo’s camp revealed that Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have arrived at Osinbajo’s official residence where the announcement will take place.
According to a source, the vice-president will make an official declaration to the general public today.
With the expected announcement, Osinbajo will be contesting alongside Bola Tinubu, former Lagos State Governor; Yahaya Bello, Governor of Kogi State; and Rochas Okorocha, Senator Representing Imo West, for the APC ticket.
