Statistician-General of the Federation, Dr Simon Harry is dead.
Gatekeepers News reports that Harry died at a private hospital in Abuja on Wednesday morning.
Gatekeepers News can confirm that his remains is about to be taken to the morgue as of the time of filing this report.
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) had earlier debunked the report of his death in a statement signed by its Director, Communication and Public Relations Department, Ichedi Joel on Sunday.
NBS, however, stated that “The fact of the matter is that the Statistician-General was slightly indisposed on Saturday and following medication is now recuperating.”
President Muhammadu Buhari approved the appointment of Simon B. Harry as the Statistician-General of the federation to head the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in August 2021.
He replaced Yemi Kale whose second term tenure of five years expired on August 16, 2021.
