Police To Arraign Toyosi Adesegun For Raising False Kidnap And Rape Alarm

Toyosi Adesegun, the lady who raised the false kidnap and rape alarm, will be arraigned by the Lagos State Police for giving false information.

Gatekeepers News reports that earlier on Thursday, Toyosi in a now-deleted post, tweeted, “I’m being kidnapped guys, I’m being raped,” and stated the location where her purported assailants held her against her will.

Police stormed the location after her tweet went viral and arrested three guys who happened to live there but Toyosi was not found.

Minutes later, she released a video and also wrote, “I tweeted that I was been (sic) kidnapped and raped. It is false. I’m so sorry for this. Pls, stop calling and threatening the numbers.”

Some Nigerians who were angered and disappointed by her tweets which they believed were for clout chasing, demanded that disciplinary actions be taken against Toyosi.

Although, she voluntarily presented herself at the police station where she was detained and questioned alongside the accused men.

Giving an update, the State Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin said: “After a careful and extensive investigation, it is revealed that 20-year-old Toyosi Adesegun, female, is a regular visitor to Olamilekan Faruk, Ayanfe Ayinde and Olusola Onipede, all male of 78 Obayan Street Akoka.

“This morning, she was restrained from leaving the apartment by the young men. Toyosi threatened to tweet what she tweeted if she was not allowed to leave.

“The young men called her bluff and she tweeted. Based on the foregoing, the three men will be arraigned for wrongful restraint, while Toyosi will be arraigned for giving false information.”
