In the words of Harry Emerson Fosdick, “Democracy is based upon the conviction that there are extraordinary possibilities in ordinary people.” Alhaji Shaibu Abdullah Yaman, is such an ordinary individual with extraordinary possibilities.
Alhaji Shaibu Abdullah YAMAN is a strong and persistent advocate of change.
He is undoubtedly a leader who has earned the attention of the masses as an icon of progressive leadership.
As one of the fathers of progressive leadership, the unanimous acknowledgement of Alhaji Shaibu Abdullah Yaman as the primus inter pares among his contemporaries in the kwara North has not only created a niche for him but has also earned him a top spot as one of the most influential politicians and progressive leaders in kwara North.
This unanimous acknowledgement and consensus earned him an honorary title as the DANMASANNI OF TSONGA.
After many decades of political struggle, Alhaji Shaibu Abdullah Yaman, the Danmasanni of Tsonga has proven himself to be a monument of munificence and a patriot of the finest order.
He is no doubt an exceptionally intelligent and innovative leader considering the level of remarkable successes recorded at various capacities he had served in the past and the legacy he is currently laying as the Federal Commissioner for Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
The increasing nostalgia of the famously googled YAMAN continues to flood and dominates the political scene of Kwara politics, and the shouting eureka that accompanies the name is beginning to set many eyebrows askew at the expense of his contenders.
To many, the art of governance and management with focus is complex and cumbersome. But to YAMAN he holds that a government with focus and well defined work processes will find governance challenging but fulfilling.
Unlike leaders and political office holders who have forfeited every moral rights to occupy any position of responsibility or leadership in this country; the emergence of Alhaji Shaibu Abdullah Yaman as the PDP gubernatorial candidate will only ensure the creation of leadership imbibed with discipline, public accountability and Integrity.
With YAMAN as the PDP gubernatorial flag bearer and inshallah, the incoming governor of kwara state, Kwara state is indeed on a course of a determined search for a stable development path, anchored on sound economic foundation, that would enable us to assert ourselves proudly and confidently among her sister states.
As a rising star in the firmament of Nigerian’s politics, Alhaji Shaibu Abdullah Yaman will throw in towels and jettison out far reaching programs that will effect dramatic physical changes. YAMAN will not serve us yesterday food in glittering new dishes.
Let’s us give the Danmasanni of Tsonga the mandate to leave more than mere footprints on the fortuitous footpath of kwara state and the nation’s political history.
Let us remember that Yesterday is not ours to recover but tomorrow is ours to win or lose.
