Gatekeepers News reports that Oluwo submitted his forms to the party on Wednesday at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The development follows the extension of the deadline for the sales of nomination and expression of interest forms after Sanwo-Olu stood unchallenged as of May 10, 2022.
Oluwo, who is the chairman of the Akinwunmi Ambode Campaign Organisation, was the Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources during Ambode’s tenure as governor.
The APC aspirant vowed to defeat the incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the APC governorship primary election later this month.
This makes Sanwo-Olu and Oluwo the only two aspirants that have submitted the party’s governorship forms in Lagos.
Meanwhile, the Governor’s Advisory Council, the highest decision-making organ of the party headed by APC chieftain, Bola Tinubu, had mid-April endorsed Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, for a second term in 2023.
Although, Tinubu had last week noted that there is no automatic ticket for Sanwo-Olu.
