The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Sama’ila Dikko, has confirmed the death of four persons in the gas explosion that rocked the state on Tuesday morning.
Gatekeepers News reports the Police Chief, made this known during an on the spot assessment of the situation.
He also has clarified that it was gas and not a bomb explosion as reported in the media (Gatekeepers News not included).
Gatekeepers News had earlier reported that many were feared dead in the explosion near a private school on Aba Road in Sabon Gari, Kano.
Dikko, who spoke in Hausa, confirmed the number of casualties and noted that rescue workers were working to remove people trapped at the building where the explosion occurred.
