It was gathered that Bribena, who is a pastor of a popular church, fled Nigeria in 2021 after failing to pay investors their return on investment. Some Nigerians who were defrauded by the pastor had protested in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital which prompted the EFCC to seal Bribena’s office.

The Bribenas are the promoters of Baraza Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited. They have branches in Port-Harcourt, the Rivers capital, and some other parts of the country and promised a 25 per cent Return on Investment monthly.

“We are dedicated to improving members’ lives via financial empowerment, business financing, thrift & credit, housing, scholarship, etc”, its profile reads.
