President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, reunited with his primary and secondary school classmates who paid him homage at his Daura home in Katsina, Northern Nigeria as part of Sallah celebrations.
Gatekeepers News reports that Buhari who expressed joy and happiness at the meeting said he got the same feeling that he used to have when they were young.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, made this known in a statement he titled ‘President Buhari in Daura, shares emotional moment with classmates’.
At the meeting, President Buhari made inquiries about the well-being, health, and family of each classmate present.
They prayed for the repose of those that died between last year, when they last met, and this year.
After chatting about their school days and sharing a lot of memories, Buhari appreciated the schoolmates for their respect and feelings for him which they have retained all the time.
The leader of the class association, Senator Abba Ali, commended the sacrifices President Buhari had been making and enjoined him to maintain focus on the nation which he said was more important than any other thing.
They presented a gift to the President and joined him in a memorable group photograph.
