The Auchi Indigenes Club (AIC) has hailed Edo State Governor, South South Nigeria, Godwin Obaseki for accepting to sight the proposed passport office in the town.

Gatekeepers News reports that this was contained in a statement on behalf of the club by her President, Dauda Momodu.

The statement read, “The President, Auchi Indigenes Club (AIC) Benin, Alh. Dauda Momodu has on behalf of the entire members of the AIC and indigenes of Auchi Sacred Kingdom, expressed heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo State, Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki.

“Recall that the Governor had, on the 21st of June 2022 during the rolling out of the newly introduced, enhanced international passport in Benin which is designated as the production centre for Edo and Delta states, had in response to the appeal by the Honourable Minister of Interior, not only accepted to build, but that the proposed Passport Office at Auchi, would be ready for commissioning and operations before the end of this year.

“Alhaji Momodu noted the challenges citizens of the state have had to endure due to travelling over long distances from Edo north and environs due to the absence of a passport office there as well as creating direct and indirect job opportunities for indigenes of the state resident and working in and around the passport office when constructed and fully operational.

“The AIC President also noted that this no doubt is another eloquent testament of His Excellency’s policy of engendering development across all parts of the state.

“The statement thanked Mr Governor for being a Governor for all and caring for the welfare of his subjects, and ended by noting that we all look forward to the completion and commissioning of the new passport office at Auchi as well as other dividends of your administration.”
