Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, said his friend, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, wanted to be his running mate in the 2007 presidential election.
Gatekeepers News reports that Atiku said this in an exclusive interview with Arise News.
Atiku said, “The Muslim-Muslim ticket has always been my fundamental disagreement with Asiwaju.
“Asiwaju planned to be my running mate in 2007 but I disagreed.
“The Muslim-Muslim ticket has always been my fundamental disagreement with Asiwaju. Nigeria is a multiethnic and multi-religious nation and there should be a religious balance in our leadership.
“I also rejected the Muslim-Muslim ticket proposition in the APC in 2015. I’ve never supported it.”
