The Aseyin of Iseyin in Oyo State, Southwest Nigeria, Oba Adekunle Salawudeen is dead.
Gatekeepers News reports that the late monarch died after a brief illness.
Iseyin is an ancient Yoruba town located in northern Oyo State, about 91 km to the capital Ibadan.
Ealier, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Ajagungbade Oyewumi died in December 2021, followed by the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, and the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who, respectively, joined their ancestors in January and April 2022.
Aseyin ascended the throne in 2007.
The monarch was said to have died at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, where he has been for months as a result of undisclosed ailments.
