I Don’t Want To Return To School – Rescued Chibok Girl

Kauna Luka, one of the latest rescued Chibok Girl, on Friday, declared that she does not want to continue her education as she fears the Boko Haram terrorists may kidnap her for a second time.

Gatekeepers News reports that Luka, who spoke to reporters at the Headquarters of Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai, rather wants the Federal and state governments to assist her and her family, stating that she would want to venture into tailoring to rebuild her life.

“I don’t want to go back to school; I fear the Boko Haram terrorists may return to kidnap me,” Luka who is the 6th out of the 10 children of her parents said.

25-year-old Luka, who regained freedom with her little daughter, is not alone in her desire to quit schooling for fear of another Boko Haram abduction, as her friend, Hannatu Musa 26, is also trailing her path.

Both Luka and Musa are part of the latest success story of the Nigeria Military Onslaught on Camps of Boko Haram terrorists and thereby paving way for abducted persons, including Chibok girls to flee from captivity.

Major General Christopher Musa, Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, while reeling out some of the recent achievements of the Theatre before Journalists at a press conference, stated that its Kinetic and non-kinetic strategy in fighting Boko Haram is responsible for the rescue of Luka and Musa alongside others freed from captivity.

“Our troops are now entering every enclave, location and camp of Boko Haram and ISWAP  terrorists. That gives opportunity to them ( Chibok girls and other abductees) to come out of captivity. We will continue to push until all Chibok girls and other abductees are out of captivity,” Gen. Musa said.

For Hannatu Musa, who linked up with Luka to escape from captivity, her immediate concern is the health of her two children as they had been feeding on leaves for about 40 days before their eventual escape from captivity.

“It’s been difficult feeding in captivity. I and my children were eating leaves for about two months before I escaped.”

Both girls had escaped from Gazuwa camp of Boko Haram terrorists and walked overnight through the bush paths before they were rescued by the Army in Bama Local Government Area.
