Video of how Catholic Bishop of Uyo Diocese, John Ebebe Ayah, rejected a N25 million donation from the Cross Rivers State Governor, Ben Ayade at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Ikot Ansa, has emerged online.
Gatekeepers News reports that Ayade, during the thanksgiving mass for Justice Emmanuel Agim Akomaye, who was recently promoted to the rank of Judge of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, announced his decision to donate N25 million.
The Governor’s gesture was however turned down by Bishop Ayah who asked him to use the money to pay workers’ salaries.
