Police Arrest Kidnap Kingpin In Edo State

Olowokere Joshua, a kidnapper who threatened to abduct and kill Dr Olatunde Oladoyinbo, a resident of Ibadan, has been arrested by the police in Edo State.

Gatekeepers News reports that the suspect, who sent gory pictures of his victims to Dr Oladoyinbo, was arrested in Warake village, Owan East Local Government Area of Edo State, and returned to Ibadan.

Adebowale Williams, Commissioner of Police in Oyo, while parading the suspect, who earlier introduced himself as Kelvin, said the suspect threatened to kidnap and kill the entire family of Dr Oladoyinbo.

Williams said, “On 2nd August, 2022, one Dr Olatunde Oladoyinbo of No 4, Adeyinka Adelusi Close, off Olu Ojelabi, Ile Tuntun area, received a WhatsApp call on his phone from an unknown person who identified himself as Mr Kelvin, the kingpin of a dreaded kidnapping syndicate.

“The self–professed criminal kingpin informed the said Dr Olatunde Oladoyinbo that detailed information about him, his wife and children had been released to him and threatened that he was coming to abduct them and terminate their lives.

“As if that was not enough, the criminal kingpin sent gory images of some of his victims who are still languishing in his captivity and those who have been brutally killed by him to Dr Olatunde Oladoyinbo.

The Commissioner of Police added that, “He later demanded a ransom of N20m from the victim and warned him of the imminent calamity that would befall him if he dared report to the police.

“The terrified victim later reported this incident to the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command. Immediately some uniformed and plain clothe police detectives were detailed around the victim to ensure his safety.

“The command’s monitoring unit was mandated to hunt down the notorious kidnapper, and after a discreet investigation, the criminal kingpin who later identified himself as Olowokere Joshua was arrested in his hideout at Wareke village.”
