Many traders are trapped in the rubble of a 3-story building that collapsed within a popular GSM market in Bairut Road area of Kano State.
Gatekeepers News reports that the incident which happened on Tuesday was confirmed by Nura Abdullahi, the coordinator of the Kano territorial district, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
Rescue efforts are already underway and three people have been pulled out of the rumble.
An eyewitnesses said: “We were just standing some buildings away from the collapsing building when we heard the noise of the collapsing building and people running helter skelter.
“The building is under construction and has not been completed when it collapsed.
“So far, three people have been removed alive but severely injured by the collapsing building.
“There are several people trapped in the rubble and unless the the place is cleared before they can b reached.”
