NASS Leaders Hail Shettima At 56

Senate President Ahmad Lawan, House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila and Deputy Speaker Ahmed Idris Wase have poured encomiums on former Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima on today’s celebration of his 56th birthday.

Gatekeepers News reports that Lawan in a statement by his Special Adviser (Media), Ola Awoniyi, said: “…Senator Shettima is a man of many parts and bundle of energy, as he has demonstrated in his remarkably productive public life.

“His record of service as a scholar, banker, two-term governor of Borno State and currently as a distinguished senator representing Borno Central, is exemplary.

“The APC Northeast Caucus is proud to showcase him as our ambassador and to assure Nigerians that he will do the party and the nation proud as the next Vice President of Nigeria, by the Grace of God.”

In his statement, Gbajabiamila described Shettima as a determined, upright, courageous and dogged politician, whose words are his bond.

The Speaker said the APC vice presidential candidate has achieved a lot and still has more contributions to make to Nigeria and Nigerians, while wishing Shettima many more years of sound health and increased wisdom from the Almighty Allah.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Umar Muhammad Puma, deputy Speaker Wase said: “I am very confident that you and your boss will provide the needed leadership to improve our economy, create jobs, improve education, reform governance and fight corruption.

“On this special day of your 56th birthday, it is my prayer that God will grant you many more years in good health to continue to render service to our fatherland. Once again congratulations.”
