Mother Didn’t Know She Was Pregnant Until She Went Into Labour

A 20-year-old woman who was unaware of being pregnant until she went into labour while clubbing, has narrated her story.

Gatekeepers News reports that the Sales assistant, Vivian Wise Ruizvelasco from Mexico, gave birth to her son Matías ten months ago after going into labour while she was out clubbing.

She revealed that she had no idea she was pregnant in the lead-up to the birth, and was continuing life ‘as normal’, drinking, exercising and spending time with her friends and boyfriend Tonatiuh González.

The mother shared some photos taken throughout her pregnancy which show she didn’t have a noticeable bump and it is understood she continued to have spotting throughout her pregnancy, which is sometimes mistaken for a period.

But after a friend’s birthday party she experienced intense stomach and hip pain and went to hospital, where a doctor informed her she was giving birth.

The new mother said it was a ‘shock’ and that she and her boyfriend worried about how they would foot the medical bill, but now she is delighted to have her son, Matías.

Her video about the experience has gone viral on TikTok, racking up 16.9 million views and 1.3 million likes.

She said: “I found out I was pregnant when I was already in labour. Immediately, I went into shock for many reasons – such as wondering if the baby was okay and what I was going to do with him, as I’ve never carried a baby [before] in my life.

“[I worried] about everything I needed to buy and in that moment, my world fell apart.”

She continued: “At first, it was very difficult for me, as I had no experience or dealings with babies, but over time, I began to adapt.

“The fact I have to teach him how to be in life is very nice and he’s already going to daycare, as well as being happy.

“He’s my son, my partner and the love of my life – it’s honestly the best and most sudden thing that could have happened to me.’

Vivien had been ‘feeling a little bad’ for two days but still went to dinner to celebrate a friend’s birthday.

However, she began to feel unwell with pain in her hips and stomach and left to go home around midnight.

The following day, Vivian went to work but was taking ‘a thousand pills’ and ‘drinking herbal tea’ in a bid to ease what she thought was severe abdominal pain. In reality, she was experiencing contractions.

Eventually, she left work early and went to the hospital with Tonatiuh.

“That’s when they told me that the pain was because I was in labour and that I had to give birth,” she said.

Their son, Matías, was delivered via a C-section and the couple were left ‘in shock’ with mixed emotions.

She said: “I didn’t feel hurt or anything at all, but my boyfriend was in shock.

“I don’t know what he was [thinking], but he clearly had to get moving as there were things we needed for the baby, as well as working out how we were going to pay for the hospital. He was so scared, but I understood.”

The TikTok video documents Vivian’s hidden pregnancy, showing how she continued on unaware she was expecting.

“Many people didn’t believe me and thought it was impossible or that it was a lie,” she said.

“The other majority of people were shocked and on the other hand, many women commented that the same thing happened to them.

“I always led my life as if nothing happened and I went out to parties a lot, but I no longer drank so much because I had my gallbladder removed almost a year ago.

“I was still drinking something though, as well as exercising and swimming – everything was really normal.”

One viewer added: “Well this seems like a more enjoyable time during pregnancy. I felt miserable during pregnancy…”

“This is actually common, some women don’t grow a stomach and because of fetal placement don’t feel the baby kick and are lucky to be asymptomatic,” someone else claimed.

Another user added: “Welcome to the club I didn’t know I was expecting twins until I was 30 weeks and I delivered them at 34 weeks.”
