Nine persons have been rescued after a storey building sunk on Monday in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria.
Gatekeepers News reports that the victims had been trapped at 47 Akinwunmi street, Akinwunmi North Estate, Mende, Maryland, Ikeja area of the State, following torrential rainfall.
Ibrahim Farinloye, Lagos Territorial Coordinator, National Emergency Management Agency confirmed the development in a statement.
He said the agency’s officials were deployed to rescue the victims after receiving a distress call about the emergency.
