Gatekeepers News reports that the 77th session of the UN General Assembly was declared open by the new General Assembly President Csaba Korosi.
Korosi took over from Abdulla Shahid as the UNGA’s president, and he is to lead the assembly for the next twelve months.
He was sworn in on Monday at the closing of the 76th session of the General Assembly.
Meanwhile, the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, the main policy-making organ of the UN, will run from Sept. 13 through to Sept. 27 while the high-level week of the gathering will be from Sept. 20 to 27.
