A nursing home in Taiwan hired a stripper to entertain senior citizens in wheelchairs during an event last Thursday, an action that has since been generating reactions from netizens.
Gatekeepers News reports that the state-run facility for retired army personnel, Taoyuan Veterans Home, paid the adult entertainer for a steamy show to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival – an important holiday in Chinese culture, whereby people gather to celebrate the rice and wheat harvests of the season.
In the now-viral video, the masked-up erotic dancer who wore lacy lingerie gave a raunchy performance. She was seen giving an elderly man a lap dance and thrusting her breasts into his face. The man also appeared to be enjoying the moment as he squeezes the stripper’s assets. Other nursing home residents clapped along enthusiastically, seeming to relish the raunchy show.
The nursing home has however apologised for hiring a stripper.
“The intention of the event was to entertain residents and make them happy. We are very sorry for the offence that was caused,” a spokesperson for the Nursing home said in a statement.
The spokesman said the stripper was hired to perform a show in order to lift residents’ spirits as Mid-Autumn Festival parties had been cancelled at the nursing home the previous years due to the COVID pandemic.
The nursing home, however, conceded that the erotic dancer’s actions were “too enthusiastic and fiery,” and that they would be “more cautious” when planning such events in the future.
They said there was also a more sedate game of bingo and some karaoke in an adjoining nursing hall.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important holidays in Asian culture. In China, the celebration is marked by reunions, thanksgiving for harvests, and prayers for good fortune.
The annual event, which this year fell on September 10, is also known as the Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival.

That nursing home is staffed by genuine human beings that want to make people’s last days of life the most fun that it possibly can be. I say that they did an amazing job. I know that I will never live that long but, if do, I hope that I get in a place like this. If these people get repercussions or fired, somebody needs to start a petition and a Go Fund Me… Every seniors home should be run like this as opposed to the majority of them where people just dump off their parents and they get abused or treated like shit.
