Wike Increases Special Assistants For Polling Units To 50000

Governor of Rivers State, South-South Nigeria, Nyesom Wike has increased the number of recently-appointed special assistants from 28,000 to 50,000.

Gatekeepers News reports that the special assistant to the governor on media, Kelvin Ebiri disclosed this in a statement.

He also said the appointments take immediate effect.

The statement, however, still did not specify what the job of the various advisers.

Wike had, on Wednesday, approved the appointment of 28,000 persons as special assistants for polling units in the state.

The governor also approved the sum of N1 billion as an emergency relief measure to support flood victims in the state.

On Tuesday, the Rivers governor appointed 14,000 advisers for various polling units in the state.
