Suspected hoodlums have allegedly disrupted the presidential campaign of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ranchers Bees Stadium, Kaduna state, Northwest Nigeria.
Gatekeepers News reports that the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku In a series of tweets said the “sponsored thugs” attacked supporters of the party.
He said the alleged attack is against the peace accord signed by all the presidential candidates.
Abubakar asked President Muhammadu Buhari to caution the supporters of all political parties to desist from attacking rallies.
“I have just received emergency reports of attacks on Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters by thugs sponsored to scuttle the ongoing PDP campaign rally in Kaduna State. This is undemocratic and against the Peace Accord all parties signed up for just a few weeks ago,” he tweeted.
“I urge President Muhammadu Buhari to call on all parties to call their supporters and members to order and to ensure that campaigns, just as with the elections themselves, are kept free, fair and safe.”
