Arsenal have maintained their top spot despite a struggle against Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday.
Gatekeepers News reports that Arsenal registered their first draw in their English Premier League (EPL) after Southampton rose from a goal down to equalise 1-1.
Since a loss at Old Trafford in early September, Mikel Arteta’s men have won four league games on a roll.
The Gunners started the game with a deserving lead in the 11th minute after a precise cross from an adventurous Ben White found Granit Xhaka in the middle of Southampton’s goal area.
The hosts on the other hand endured pressure from the visitors and got the reward with a riposte in the second half as Mohamed Elyounoussi slipped a pass to Stuart Armstrong, who finished low beyond the stretched legs of Aaron Ramsdale.
Although Arsenal still maintain the top slot on the table, they are just two points ahead of Manchester City, second in the league.
