WhatsApp messenger have encountered a global shutdown.
Gatekeepers news reports that the platforms owned by Facebook stopped working around 9am on Tuesday, October 4.
Although reasons for the shutdown have not been identified, however, opinions have it that it might have been due to server errors or programming errors.
Whatsapp user find it difficult to send messages and updating their whatsapp statuses.
Others have said that they can no longer see blue ticks whenever they send private messages, they also noted that they can no longer connect to whatsapp’s servers, with the application displaying a continuous “connecting…” message.
The downtime has been on for over an 45 minutes and now back.
