Police Discover 10 Corpses Inside Bush in Edo

Edo State Police Command has announced the discovery of  10 corpses inside a bush at the Ibillo Lampese axis of the Lagos-Abuja expressway.

Gatekeepers News reports that Chidi Nwabutor, Police Spokesperson in the State, announced the development in a statement on Wednesday.

Nwabutor said the corpses discovered were males between the ages of 23 and 25.

He said the operatives from Ibillo Divisional Headquarters of the police Command in collaboration with vigilance group and hunters found the corpses on Tuesday.

“During preliminary investigation, photographs of the dead bodies were taken,” he said.

“Also, the bodies were thoroughly searched and examined but there was no noticeable mark of violence or materials that could have led to identifying where they were from.

“Investigation was also extended to the Fulani/Hausa communities and the indigenous communities who came, examined corpses and declared that the dead bodies were not members of their vigilance groups.

“The dead bodies had since been deposited at the Ibillo General Hospital mortuary for preservation and forensic investigation.”

He also said Mohammed Dankwara, Commissioner of Police in the State, has urged members of the public to share information that may be useful in exposing the circumstances that led to the death of the men so as to apprehend the suspects connected to the deaths.
