Wife of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Saturday, pledged that her husband, Bola Ahmed Tinubu will make the people of Borno State and the North East Region proud if elected as the next President come 2023.
Gatekeepers News reports that Senator Tinubu who was on a campaign rally alongside APC governors wives and other party big- wigs wives prayed for the restoration of permernent peace in the the troubled North East region.
This Was disclosed during a coutesy visit led by Senator Tinubu and entourage to the Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum at the Government House, Maiduguri.
Senator Tinubu disclosed that youths and women in the region will be accorded the desired attention and given the necessary empowerment to make them more productive to their communities.
According to her, there is need to urgently reposition Nigerian youth and make them more resourceful to the nation and engage them positively
“…if God gives us the opportunity, we are promising you that we will make you proud. I have worked with youths most of my life and I have always done charity work.
“I believe that we have a lot of work to do, especially to reposition our youths, make them more resourceful for the nation and also engaged them positively,” Senator Tinubu said.
Mrs Tinubu also commended the state Governor for the specific role he played towards the emergence of her husband as the Presidential Candidate of the APC.
Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum commended the APC Women Presidential campaign team for their dogedness and assured that Borno State will ensure more than 95% votes for the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential ticket.
The Governor specifically requested that if Tinubu is elected the next President of Nigeria, he should accord great priority in the education of women within North East region.
“I have no alternative than to deliver Borno to Tinubu. We will work assiduously to deliver more than 95% votes to Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket.
“But I have a request, we want greater support to women in Borno State and the entire North East Region if God gives Tinubu the opportunity to form the National Government. Women in this region are backward educationally and we want this to change,” Prof. Zulum said.
