No fewer than two people were killed, and several others have been injured in a shooting incident in central Paris on Friday.
Gatekeepers News reports that the shooting which happened around Kurdish cultural centre is being investigated for a racist motive.
Paris Deputy Mayor Emmanuel Gregoire, while confirming the attack said, “A gun attack has taken place. Thank you to the security forces for their swift action.
“Thoughts for the victims and those who witnessed this drama.”
Meanwhile, Paris police said they were dealing with an incident on the Rue d’Enghien and urged the public to stay away from the area.
The suspected gunman, aged 69, was arrested but has recently been released.

Authorities have appealed to people to avoid the area in Strasbourg-Saint Denis in the 10th district of Paris.
Meanwhile, the Kurdish Democratic Council in France (CDF-K) has condemned the attack in a short statement, adding that there would be a vigil on Friday evening to pay tribute to the deceased.
