Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has shunned the Presidential Rally of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state.
Gatekeepers News reports that Atiku was in the state to campaign for the Oyo electorates’ support as part of an effort to actualize his quest to become the next Nigerian president.
Makinde is among the five, aggrieved governors of the PDP, who vowed not to support the party’s presidential candidate unless the national chairman of the party, Senator Iyiochia Ayu resigned the position.
The five governors led by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike are Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), and Samuel Ortom (Benue).
Atiku who arrived at the Ibadan airport Thursday morning, was welcomed into the city by a jubilant crowd.
The former Vice President also visited the Olubandan palace before moving to the Mapo Hall, the venue of the presidential rally.
