UNILORIN Students’ Union Facilitates School Fee Intervention Scheme

University of Ilorin, Students Union has launched a STUDENTS’ UNION SCHOOL FEE INTERVENTION SCHEME facilitated by the Vice-President of the Students’ Union Main-Campus, OSENI, Islamiat Arinola.

Gatekeepers News reports that Oseni in a chat with our correspondent noted that the intervention scheme is the first project from her office as the Vice-President of the Union.

She said, “It is one of the promises I made to Unilorites before my emergence and I was trusted with the mandate.

“The School Fee Intervention is sponsored by ISERH ADOPTS, an initiative that supports students education since it’s onset.

“We supported a number of students across all faculties and departments. The process of the intervention was a transparent, long and thorough one.

“Special Thanks to the Interview team: Dr. Ajewole (The Sub-dean Students’ Affairs); Mr. Ayodele Muhammad Ataba (BABA SLUM) and the Financial Secretary, Mr. Aina David Oluwajuwonlo.

“Unadulterated appreciation to our fathers Prof. M. T Yakubu (Dean Students’ Affairs) and Dr. Ajewole (The Sub-dean Students’ Affairs) for their full supports.

“My deep gratitude goes to the Executive Director of Initiative for Sound Education, Relationship & Health (a sponsoring organization of ISERH ADOPTS), Mr. Abayomi Abdulraheem for his generosity towards modern Unilorites.

The Executive Director of ISERH Adopts angle, Mr. Abayomi Abdulraheem also said, “Seeing one’s colleagues dropping out of school or deferring admission breaks the mind of a humane being, but empirical statistics still put Nigeria in the cohort of nations with cheapest tuitions for higher education.

“Hence, a sincere organization like ours finds it difficult to condemn institutions when they increase tuition fee except on moral grounds of timing, notification duration to students, and socio-economic realities of the majority of Nigerians.

“As an organization whose leadership had similar experiences while in school, what we could do was to support the little number of students we had the ability to do.

“Our choice of University of Ilorin was borne out of the fact that one of our interventional programs for African undergraduates is populated with the students of the institution, and having an ISERH Associate Ambassador occupying the position of Vice President of the University’s students’ union was a germination of our leadership quest seeds planted in the mind of our IAAs.

“As we received appreciation and prayers from the beneficiaries, we also appreciate all our partners that supported the initiative (ISERH ADOPTS) and IAA Islamiat Oseni (VP, Students’ Union) that brought the plights of her colleagues to our attention.

“At ISERH, we are committed to producing the missing piece (ethical youths) that the world is waiting for.

One of the beneficiaries, SAKA, Adenike Sekinat, A 400 level student of Arts Education in a statement added, “All Praises and thanks unto ALMIGHTY ALLAH, the most Merciful of all the merciful; for HIS endless mercy and favour bestowed upon me.

“On behalf of myself and my entire family, we would love to say a VERY BIG THANK YOU to iserh’s adopts school fees payment intervention scheme organised by the office of the Vice-president main campus, University of Ilorin.

“This wonderful initiative really, really came at a time that I needed it the most and I’m glad that someone like me who has no connection, except from Almighty ALLAH’S mercy and grace; could easily walk into the office of the Vice President at the Students Union Building, University of Ilorin; pick a from, submit it, go for the scheduled interview and be selected at the end without any unnecessary or unrealistic requirements/requests. I’m really grateful because the whole process was totally free from any form of corruption.

“I ask ALLAH to continue to bless the Chief Servant of Iserh who funded this initiative, the organizers and all the team members that contributed to the success of this initiative.

“May HE grant them success in all their endeavours and uplift them to places they can’t even fathom. (Aameen) Thank you and God you all.”
